the brief

ICHI Worldwide is a creative agency that partners with some of the biggest entertainment brands. They’re an independent lean collective with projects focused on clarity of concept, brand cohesion, and creative accountability. I was tasked with creating the navigation of publishing a mod and adding new features on the client's website called Curseforge. ICHI Worldwide hasn't released any information for this project and I am not authorized to discuss any specific information.

publishing process

We needed to create a feature for two third-party gaming websites to link to our website. We decided to create a portal for these gaming websites which will allow users to upload their previous mods to our website.

Our main goal for this project was to make the publishing process of a mod more intuitive. I was tasked with researching step by step processes of progress bars and error corrections.

progress bar

I researched many step by step processes of progress bars and liked the spacing and readability that most horizontal progress bars have. Ultimately, we realized that users from the other two gaming websites are more familiar with a vertical progress bar. We created the UI to look similar so users will be more familiar with the process.

error correction

There were quite a few steps for creating a new project for publishing a mod,  I began researching error correction methods and creating a more intuitive way for users to correct their mistakes.  The forms for a step wasn’t too long so I designed the error correction to be highlighted red and a short message guiding the user to correct the mistake.

mod flow

I created a user flow to display the navigation of how the two third-party gaming websites would publish a mod on our website.
